UMK Colloquium on New Materials, Tfy-125.4432 (2 - 4 cr, P,V)
Passing the course (2 - 4 credits)
Lectures part: 2 credits
Essay part: 2 credits (total 4 credits)
Two credit points are given for students who collect at least 14 points and answer to a course feedback. Points are given: listening to a lecture (1 point), writing a short (1 page) summary about the listened lecture (1 point). A summary should include the key contents of a lecture in your own words in English, Finnish or Swedish.
In order to get 2 credits you will need either to:
- Listen to 9 lectures and write summaries about 5 of them
OR
- Listen to 8 lectures and write summaries about 6 of them
OR
- Listen to 7 lectures and write summaries about 7 of them.
Lecture slides will appear on Noppa-portal if the lecturer allows so, but make your own notes also.
Four credit points are given to the students who, in addition to the previous, write an essay (about 7 pages). The topics of essays are loosely tied to the subjects of lectures and will be published in late March.
Detailed instructions for writing the summaries and essays can be found and downloaded in Noppa-portal.
Deadline for both summaries and essays is 31 May, 2011.
Summaries and essays should be returned by email to UMK Center for New Materials Coordinator (address below).
