Passing the course (Spring 2010)
Lectures part: 2 credits
Essay part: 1 credit (total 3 credits)
Two credit points are given for students who collect at least 14 points. Points are given: listening to a lecture (1 point), writing a short (1 page) summary about the listened lecture (1 point).
In order to get 2 credits you will need either to:
- Listen to 9 lectures and write summaries about 5 of them
OR
- Listen to 8 lectures and write summaries about 6 of them
OR
- Listen to 7 lectures and write summaries about 7 of them.
Lecture slides will appear on the web pages if lecturer allow so, but make your own notes also.
A summary should include the key contents of a lecture in your own words in English, Finnish or Swedish.
The summaries need to be typewritten - handwritten (or scanned) summaries will not be accepted.
Three credit points are given to the students who, in addition to the previous, write an essay / short report (about 7 pages). The topics of essays are loosely tied to the subjects of lectures and will be published in late March.
Deadline for both summaries and essays is 31 May, 2010.
Summaries and essays can be returned to by email (address below), internal mail (PL 16300) or bringing them to lectures.
